Position Summary

The Searchandizing (search+merchandizing) team is responsible for development of the CMC – The Commerce Merchandizing Console of the Mercado 5 platform. The CMC enables business users to apply merchandizing strategies to their e-commerce web site, in a rapid, user-friendly and efficient manner.

We're looking for innovative, creative and highly motivated software engineers, who will quickly become an integral part of the team. The position requires development of future versions of our product in various technologies, as well as maintenance of the existing features.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Senior Software engineer in the searchandizing team, be a technology and feature leader within the team; develop key software components and introduce new technologies and software development methodologies. Architect and design key components in Mercado's product offering.

Education and Experience

At least a B. Sc. Degree from one of the leading universities.

Required: Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

J2EE technologies: Hibernate, Spring framework, Struts and similar
Proven experience in OOP / OOD
Experience in architecture of large software systems
Web 2.0 technologies (DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX)
Java / Web development (JSP, Servlets, HTTP)
Familiarity with Relational DB, SQL
Experience in various software development methodologies (agile, scrum)

Preferred: Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge in C / C++
.Net Framework / C#

Classification: Exempt, Salary
Compensation: Depending on Experience
