Ergo® In Demand Deploys Mercado Ignition OnDemand™ – Experiences Record Conversion Rate Improvement
Leading business & office furniture supplier improves conversion rates 15-times as a result of deploying Mercado site search and dynamic navigation on B2B eCommerce site.
PLEASANTON, CA, May 5, 2008 - Mercado (www.mercado.com), a leading eCommerce solution provider, today announced that Ergo In Demand (www.ergoindemand.com), a worldwide distributor of ergonomic office furniture and computer accessories, recently deployed Mercado Ignition OnDemand.
By using Mercado's search, navigation and merchandising software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering, Ergo In Demand has doubled their site search traffic – resulting in a 15x increase in conversion rates for customers using the search application vs. those that don't. According to Chad Goldsmith, Manager, E-Commerce Marketing at Ergo In Demand, Inc., "with our recent site redesign we've seen a 300% increase with customers using the Mercado search box to find products. Because those customers convert approximately 15 times more often than our other customers, we continue to look for additional navigation paths to the search application. Mercado's search and navigation refinements have made it much easier for our customers to find and buy the office and business supplies they need – especially with the more technical products like LCD monitor and Plasma TV mounting systems.
Mercado has also generated other sales increases as well. During the week, Ergo In Demand targets mostly business customers while on the weekend they see more inquires from consumers. Since rolling out Mercado, they have seen weekend sales more than double as a result of consumers using Mercado to find home entertainment related products and solutions.
